The Taste of Autumn
On the first weekend of November, San Donato Val di Comino invites people to sit down at the table in its historic center for "The Taste of Autumn": two simple, well-crafted days dedicated to seasonal flavors and the desire to be together. Saturday, 1, starts at 7 p.m., when the alleys will light up with aromas: roasted chestnuts, peasant soups, cheeses and cured meats from the Comino Valley, homemade desserts and local wines. On Sunday 2, from 11 a.m., it continues in a festive atmosphere with tastings, small markets, live music and family entertainment.
Here autumn is concrete: hands slicing, glasses toasting, chatting among friends facing the stones. It's the perfect opportunity to meet producers, artisans and recipes that tell of work and tradition. Between courses, you treat yourself to a stroll to the lookouts over the valley or a stop in the stores of the village that is an Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club.
The event is designed with environmental awareness in mind: reasoned portions, recycling collection, and an invitation to bring a water bottle. The center is within easy walking distance from the parking lots in the valley; we recommend comfortable shoes and a sweater for the evening.
