Home > Events > Excursions for guests > Mount Panico (in memory of Livio Quintiliani)
In memory of Livio Quintiliani, a prominent figure in our club and community, the San Donato Val di Comino CAI is organizing a hike to Mount Panico, one of the most striking peaks in the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park.
The loop trail starts from Forca d'Acero, a pass located at about 1,500 meters above sea level, and runs through the Inguagnera Valley, also known as "Cornacchie Valley."
The route passes through wide glades and beech forests, offering spectacular views of the Comino and Sangro Valleys.
The climb culminates at Mount Panico, at an elevation of 1,885 meters, from which there are panoramic views ranging from Mount Marsicano to Velino to the Gran Sasso's Corno Grande.
Along the way, it is possible to spot wildlife such as the Marsican brown bear and golden eagle, species that find refuge in these lands.
