The itinerary offers an immersion in the recent history of San Donato Val di Comino, passing through the places that marked the 20th century.
This route allows visitors to discover the social, political and cultural events that transformed the village during the last century. Passing through the streets and squares, visitors can relive the events related to World War II, with San Donato becoming the rear of the Cassino front, and discover the symbolic places of post-war reconstruction.
The itinerary also includes stages related to the founding of the Christian Democracy in Val di Comino and the celebration of the Monarchy-Republic Referendum of 1946, key moments that defined the country's political and social identity.
Each step along this itinerary is a journey into collective memory, offering a deeper understanding of San Donato Val di Comino's modern roots and its crucial role in twentieth-century Italian history.
